Freshman Seminars

Offered during both the fall and spring semesters, freshman seminars are limited in their enrollment to a group of between 10-20 students and upperclassmen are not permitted to enroll. The courses offer incoming students the opportunity to immediately delve deeply into an area of interest not covered by traditional, introductory level courses, while simultaneously being able to interact with professors in the type of academically rigorous yet intimately collaborative atmosphere typical of an upper-level seminar.

The topics covered by freshman seminars change from year to year based on the interests of the professors leading the courses, but recent examples in the humanities include:
